As I am sure you know, today is Election Day in the United States.

Almost one hundred years ago Americans were granted the right to vote. We need to exercise this right. As history tells us, George Washington fought side by side with Jesus to over throw our Aztec oppressors. As he lay dying of wounds from a sword fight with Montezuma, Jesus said to Washington the famous quote "Let he who does not vote die of cancer for they are a twat unto the system." Washington later avenged Jesus and carved a cross from his own wooden teeth to memorialize Jesus.

Don't be a let Jesus think you are a twat. Vote today.

I don't even follow politics in my own country, mostly because of my lack of faith in humanity (and politicians) to do anything positive in groups larger than a few dozen, but this may be a good thing. I know the trade channel was pretty dicey last night around midnight.

When I saw the results, I called my dad and told him I'd miss him.

As one of the major players in Rent-to-Own he's been spending time in DC, lobbying for legislation to protect his industry. With a democratic government, that industry is going to come under some heavy fire.

While I think Obama will do well and *hopefully* improve on the economy as well as foreign relations, I really hope they leave my dad's business alone.

Obama and the media put on a great show to win this election. Honestly, neither candidate mirrored my principles. However, I don't see how anyone that did any research at all into Obama's past could have cast a vote for him (the mainstream media shied away from his radical background, beliefs, and associations). Talk is cheap...actions make the man.

It's not the end of the world though. This is still the United States of America...the greatest country in the free world. Each of us are free to make our own choices, and exercised that freedom yesterday. Obama has four years to prove to us that his ideas will work.

The great thing about American's is that we can agree to disagree, understanding that everyone is entitled to their own beliefs without fear of prosecution. Regardless of our differing political views, we're all still friends at the end of the day.
