After looking at this map for the last couple days, It's becoming apparent that if we were to have ChaosCon, it would need to be in Maryland. So, who has a pool and lives near a liquor store?

My house is right by the liquor store in Maryland. (actually in between where Dro and Rivendell are) Also, chill in a 5 bedroom 4000 sq foot house, with my ATV under the porch and several miles of trails directly behind the house in the woods :) The basement was just recently finished off, which I spent countless hours helping my Dad run wires through the walls for the Bose speaker system and projector system. Gonna be running my machine on the wireless router, we'll see how well it does compared to the hardwired setup next month. (supposedly can support something ridiculous like 200 wireless connections) Not sure how I feel about the cable company up there Comcast though, I think the one down here in Virginia (Cox) is probably better. (Some of you already know, but I'm separating from the military after 9 years of service and moving in with my parents for 2 years to finish my degree...27 year old guy living with the parents, what a loser!)

Comcast is evil incarnate. They are the worst provider on the planet. I would rather have dialup than Comcast.

I agree they're evil but I wouldn't go as far as dialup instead of them if I had to. Don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy I don't have them one ISP outage a year is more than enough, but dialup is far more evil. It's not only sporadic and crappy service (like Comcast) but at least when it is up you've got some speed.

I had comcast for 1 month. I was recieving too high of a powersignal. It was causing the cablemodem to continually reset. I verified this with the cablemodem manufacturer - only after comcast said that was not the issue, but a result of construction in the area. I was not aware that they were doing construction at 2am around me, but thats' a side issue. Comcast techs cancelled on me twice in 3 days when I took off work, and never notified me that they were not coming out - instead they simply closed the tickets without solving my problem. The third time, they called me to tell me the problem was fixed, while I was actively down. After they did not come out for a third time, I called and cancelled.

On a potentially related sidenote, I have now returned 2 digital cable boxes to them in 3 months time. They are actually supposed to be sending a tech out to look at my line, as they think the cable boxes are flaking out as a result of a bad signal. So yeah, I would rather have dialup then deal with those schmucks again for broadband.
