Plague-assisted War Bear

You all know about the war bear, right? A "very fast" mount you get for killing the big 4 faction bosses (Warchief Thrall, Sylvanna Banshee Queen, etc).

Well, it occurred to me the best way to actually take them... would be to use the current zombie event. As wev'e seen, zombies can create huge impacts on even capital cities. What better way to draw off the guards, npcs, indeed even horde players who might otherwise interfere than by having some of us coordinate a zombie invasion of the city while it happens. Plus, this might well mask the attack itself (imagine most are numb to the "under attack" messages they generate.

Which gives us about one week to make it happen...

AFAIK you can stay in a raid while zombie, maybe even getting credit still...

well we have to coordinate things. The non-zombies in the assault (it has to have both) take out the argent healers.

Interesting idea... But would the non-zombies be able to finish the attack without getting infected themselves?

Hmmm. yes, the argent healers are a problem.

Well, perhaps we could still keep the zombies out of range, but just use them to draw off as much support from the leaders as possible.

I'm 99% sure that when the plague "kills" someone you don't actually get kill credit because the NPC doesn't "die", they just transform.

which would be the most doable to start things off? we'd want a convenient out of the way place to do the summoning, where we'd attract less attention... hmm..

If we wanted to do this, it would be best to get a couple of Locks to do so in the wee hours. Nekkid run to a secluded spot to summon ... Upstairs of a store in The Drag or something. Then log out in the spot they will summon from. This way it wouldn't draw a lot of attention with "Ogrimmar is under attack!" during prime time.

Then just before the attack would start. Everyone log on and be ready for summon. A distraction group could start attacking the front gate so that when people see the warnings of an attack, they will believe this to be the reason.

Summons from the hidden locks to the awaiting raid members then eventually summoning the distraction force from the front would go out. Then we attack in full and proceed to die a lot. :)

I suppose that's better than my idea of a bunch of nekkid runs (on our own time) to the throne room followed by a coordinated simo-login straight to the location.... (if for no other reason than that would tie up a lot of mains).

I've heard they don't really hit as hard compared to our level 70 asses as you'd think. I mean its tough, but its not like we'd be if attacked by some level 57s...
