The Great OoC Race To 80 Pool!!!

So, the xpac's only a matter of WEEKS away, and people are starting to plan for it. Picking which toon to level, what build they want... there's some excitement that's starting to kick in, which is fantastic. Everything, though, focuses on that one critical piece of the game - the trek to 80!! In one way or another, the journey begins on November 13th, as we all take their first steps to that magic mark.

The question I have, however, is who will be first? Will Hidden and Anna battle it out again? Or will there be a dark horse that'll surprise everyone? How will the "DK Factor" play into the mix? I wanna know what people think... and to make it more interesting, I say we make a game out of it...

While coming up with the first person in OoC to hit 80 is pretty easy... coming up with a list the first 10 players in OoC to hit 80 is a lot more challenging. What I propose is that anyone who wants to play chip in.. say.. 50g. Then, everyone list the first 10 toons in the guild that they think will hit 80. Whenever people start hitting 80, we'll award points on the position they reach 80 in. For example, the first toon to hit 80 will be worth 10 points, the 2nd toon - 9 points, 3rd toon - 8 points... all the way to the 10th toon will be worth 1 point. Whoever earns the most point with their list, wins the pot. :)

It's a small amount of money to make an exciting thing even more so! Start figuring things out, folks! When you've come up with your list, send the 50g to me and post your list. I'll hold onto the pot and keep a tally of everyone's lists. Either way, it should be a fun time... best of luck to everyone :)

Does order count?

example, I have Hidden as first to reach 80 and Bek has Hidden third to reach 80. or is it simply who's on the list?

Nope... the order you list them won't matter. :) Just list 'em in whatever order... I'm only concerned with who you have on your list. :)

I suggest having people mail you their lists privately, that'll prevent list copying! NOT that anyone would DO something like that.... :)

Sounds like a great idea Bek. Will have to start putting my list together and send in my 50g :) So this is by TOON correct not by player? I can't put down say Era or Kin and just call 'HAH! Got it!' when one of their army of 70s hits the mark?

Also, deadline for submissions? I will have to do some research to make sure I know whom is leveling who.

Awesome idea, Kinj... to prevent copying of lists, either PM me on the board, or PM in game with your list, along with your 50g. I'll record things, and make a large post after the deadline. :)

And thanks to Sudac for helping me find where and what I've missed. I've pondered the toon vs. player thing, Sud... and I think, because of people changing toons at the last minute and stuff... we'll pick player and not toon. One caveat that I will throw in is that one player can only be listed once. For example, if Era, playing 2 toons together, become the 4th and 5th toon to hit 80, he will only be counted as the 4th to hit 80, and you won't get points for 4th and 5th place. :) Make sense?

And good point about the deadline. We'll make the deadline Halloween.. so October 31, 2008 at midnight as the deadline. That way, it'll give me a chance to post everyone's selections and whatnot...

I think the answer to this question is how much freetime people have to play the game around the November/December months. You guys need to get inside people's heads to figure this out :P
