Loot plays little if any role in our decision on which bosses to hit :)
Please, if that was the case then we would never do a boss twice...

I am all about doing new content believe me, I want to do Mount Hyjal more than anything else - even if all bosses dropped greys - that I agree I would want to do Hyjal. But Morogrim has no lore, no background story, the fight is an aoe dps check a la Blizzard, and it stopped us dead in track last time we tried to restart raiding. We skipped boss in AQ40 before and nobody lost sleep over it.

I still will be happy to down him if we do ;)

I raid to progress. Progression comes in the from of new gear AND new content. New gear has the added advantage of making new content available, but it is it's own reward.

Morogrim didn't stop us dead in our tracks. We've yet to attempt Morogrim without at least a 4 week gap between attempts. Morogrim is tough sure but he's nothing we can't beat with a little work on him. Switching to using a bear tank is probably going to help us but we only did that for one attempt and haven't been back since (and we've yet to have our prot pally with us while doing it which will also help).

And we understand everyone has their own reasons for raiding. I have no problem with someone raiding just for gear (as long as they don't give everyone the middle finger once they get their gear and abandon us).

But like Luna said, our purpose for raiding right now isn't going to be to gear everyone up for WotLK and watch it all get replaced in a few levels.

So that everyone knows, our goals are to beat as much TBC raiding content as we can before WotLK gets here while at the same time building a strong raiding core for WotLK so we don't fall so far behind in raiding on the next go round.

We haven't run into anything we can't handle yet. We're moving really well right now. 3 new bosses down in the last 3 weeks. We're two bosses from Vashj and Kael which are epic fights and that puts us on the doorstep of T6 raiding which I expect us to be neck deep in sooner rather than later.

I am loving our progress right now. Let's keep it up!

Sometimes it's hard to pass a boss in order to attempt the new one.

... all I said was that Morogrim is a boring boss with crappy loot. Period. If you read into it that I am raiding just for gear... well too bad.

Huh? Who said you were raiding for gear? That was replying to Neit's comment about character progression being tied to gear and new content and I was simply saying I understand that some people want to raid for gear to advance their character. For some that's their only reason for wanting to raid. And that's fine. (Not saying that's what Neit wants either lest I ruffle other feathers as well). That wasn't targeted at you Darkon.

So uh...if you read into it that I called you a loot whore....well then you read it wrong.

Fact. For those who still haven't figured it out, the ZA/Badge items are MORE powerful then most the SSC/TK items with a few exceptions. Get ZA/Badge gear. Go to p25's. Kick ass. Profit. When we hit Hyjal and Black Temple then there will be more upgrades, which we'll need for the 3rd (4th?) boss in Hyjal that drains peoples mana and kills them when they go dry. I know that one is a dps race fight.

The fact we have an extra tank or two on our raids isn't such a bad thing when we get to Hyjal, which will be waves of trash where the tanks scoop everything up, then call AOE when they feel like they've got a good hold on the mobs. Feral druids in particular are good since they can put DPS gear on when not needed to tank stuff and put out dps, prot warriors and paladins aren't so great at that.

Get ZA/Badge gear.
I am not expecting people to run ZA to get me gear, but you have to admit that it helps to get invited to a regular group running it, isn't it ?
