OoC Version 3.0 - Battleplan
This should have been posted long ago, right about the time I took over – but as always things come up.
It is time now to usher in a new era of OoC, I refer to OoC being Version 3.0 as I’m the 3rd GM to take over OoC in WoW. It’s not an easy task but one I’m quite willing to do. Several things I’d like to touch upon, few will evolve over time, but some are already implemented. Here are the new things: The OoC Wiki There is a new Wiki for all things Order of Chaos, for use by registered guild members. Its primary purpose is to store and maintain our Raid Boss strategies, and ProTip™’s we’ve learned over time. You can find the Wiki at http://wiki.orderofchaos.com for those registered to the forums, use your login and password from the forums to edit and add content. Please adhere to the templates some of the Class Leaders have already created. The Guild Bank We will be implementing a guild banking system. It will be manual process for now, and at the moment it’s empty. Donations are welcome. The purpose of the Guild Bank is to make the guild more self sufficient. We will leverage our size and our raiding ability to help fund it and help those in guild progress. This is also an effort to help make raiding easier, once things get moving on the guild will be able to provide raiding flasks and potions to those who participate in the content. For the past few weeks you may have noticed repair bots have been provided on the p40 raids, this is the initial endeavors of the guild bank, it will expand when it becomes more self sufficient. You’ll also notice that there are new raids showing up on the calendar specifically the MC Nexus Run, this Raid is specifically to build the guild bank. All gold looted will be sent to the Guild Bank, most Items will be disenchanted and sent to the Guild Bank, all cores, and other BoE items as well. They will be sold from this run, specifically. The initial reaction for most will be that those items are needed by many members of the guild, and the response I have is if you were there, you could loot it, otherwise it will likely be sold. Guild members could purchase the item from the bank as well, for gold (reduced price of course) At this point we’re not 100% sure how we’ll be pricing items. We’re putting together a list of items that are of significant need, like the Flask materials or Fused Wiring (hint, hint) We’re still in building mode of this aspect of the guild, so it may take some time to see the fruits of this. Raiding Changes New focus on Raiding, We'll be putting more emphasis on content progression. This means we'll be providing Flask and several pots for the raid on learning status encounters. This means at this point in time AQ40 is the Guilds current Learning Encounter. Members will still be required to fund their own repair costs, but providing the guild with materials for potions and flasks will soften the blow. Flasks of Supreme Power and Flask of the Titans and other Potions will be provided as need to those who need them. This will mean that more people will be asked to stay for the entire duration of the raid. This is of course contingent on how well the guild is stocked for items. If we're not well stocked we may postpone a raid until we have enough stock. There are plenty of other things to do still :) This is borrowed from the Raid Calendar Post, nothing has changed. Instance Breakdown Ahn'Qiraj Temple (AQ40) will be our primary "Learning" instance until such time we find it necessary to move on. Blackwing Lair (BWL) will be our primary "Gearing" instance, again, until such time we find it necessary to move on. I suspect this will be the case for a very long time. Molten Core (MC) will be our primary "Intro to Raiding" instance, meaning it will be our primer for Guild Raiding as a whole, also it will serve a double purpose by helping to fund the Guild Bank (more on this later). On the 3rd week of the Calendar Month, MC and BWL will switch, this means in most cases BWL will move to Saturday and MC will move to a weekday. Zul'Gurub and Ahn'Qiraj Ruins (ZG/AQ20) will be our primary "Intro to End-Game" instance, meaning it will appear less on our Guild Calendar and more on our Player Calendar (more on that later too). The goal is that this will eventually fade out of the Guild Calendar all together and the Player Calendar will be used to schedule the P20 instances. Schedule Breakdown We will be dedicating 2-3 days per Raiding Cycle to the Learning instance. We will be dedicating 1-2 days for the Gearing instance. We will be dedicating 1 day for the Intro to Raiding instance. We will be dedicating 1 day for the Intro to End Game instance. Social Activities Given the great success of the Amazing Race Across Azeroth, we’re going to be attempting to host more social events. This will include massive raids on the Gurubashi arena, more races, and always more fun. There’s a lot to do in game, and we’ll just make even more. More of this will come as those who are coming up with it hash out some details. And so ends my Battleplan, this should take us well into the Holidays and beyond, hopefully into Expansion. Enjoy and discuss in this thread here. |
